Synopsis: Sleeping with the light on is associated with being afraid of what lurks in the dark, more specifically being fearful of your own imagination. This piece is personal and autobiographical, based upon a traumatic experience I went through during the time depicted in the video.

Production Notes: The creative starting point for this piece was to use my mattress as a percussion instrument. I recorded myself playing the mattress with my thermal imaging camera (which I've used previous works). The drawing of the calendar was mixed in real time with the mattress imagery using a simple video mixer. The other sound source in this piece is the viola. This is meaningful, in the sense that, to me the viola (being my first childhood musical instrument) is symbolic of a sort of mental regression that I went through; feeling safe as long as the light was on when I slept.
