Synopsis: This piece is 1 of 6 created for "Lost As Heat", an interactive DVD-Video disc. Next door to my apartment was an escort service; one of those barely-legal fronts for prostitution. The women that worked there were always coming and going at all hours of the night. So, for every weekend night during an entire summer, I recorded the activity in the doorway of the building. On the DVD version of this piece, the two views are actually two "angles" which are switchable by the viewer.

Production Notes: The sound for this piece (and the others on the DVD) is mixed in surround. In the mix are field recordings of intercom systems (the kind near the doorways outside of buildings) and the sound of door "buzzers" (solenoids used to temporarily unlock a door). The percussion sounds were programmed and recorded by myself using a drum-pad synthesizer.
